However, a couple of years later, I decided to try and learn how to type. Don't subject the poor things to learning how to type from an outdated book.
It's at a great price, and you won't regret buying it. Give them a jump start.
My parents bought me an older version of this game for Christmas one year (2005 or 2006). My first day of keyboarding class in 8th grade, my teacher asked where I learned to type, and I said: "The Spongebob Squarepants Typing Game, of course." She was speechless.I really recommend this game to all parents, as it's a lot better than school typing programs.
:) and when I got it, I had no interest in playing it.
It taught me all of the correct fingerings in a really entertaining way, and the games were great.
Even he said he was sick of hearing SpongeBob after only a few sessions. Bought this for my 9 year-old SpongeBob fanatic.
Does this mean spongebob is smarter than me. Something I was unable to teach. Good product. Got a nine year old to start typing using home keys.
Why. I bought this software for my son last summer, and made a deal with him that he would complete the software before school started in September for a grand prize of $50. I couldn't ask for more. Because he types well, and doesn't look at the keyboard. He did it, and without much trouble. He has been at the top of his computer class since September, getting the highest grade possible each semester.
So I think its an option for a child with some basis typing practice and knowledge of hand position, etc. (Older grandkids started with the Mavis Beacon program and then went to the Sponge Bob for a change - loved it and did well. SpongeBob Squarepants Typing 2008My six year old grandson found this interesting, but it didn't teach him the fundamentals he needed to follow along with the program. We will try it later, now he is doing well in Mavis Beacon set to its lowest lever (8 year old) and really likes working on it every day.
